Visual Brand Identity

The brand identity process begins with a comprehensive client briefing to fully understand and establish the objectives and parameters of the assignment. Any existing elements of name, logo and signature are analyzed for merit and brand equity value. How the identity fits into existing brand architecture, or the development of a brand architecture is thoroughly explored.

Once the parameters and scope of the assignment are agreed upon, we prepare and present alternative concepts. Typically, our client's management team makes the decision. However, in some cases, we conduct focus groups to pretest the ideas and gain greater insight and feedback from potential customers.

Once the winning design is selected, we prepare the standards needed to apply the brand identity to the required mediums including stationery, presentation templates, packaging, signage and trade show exhibits.

Depending upon the scope of the assignment, we will prepare a brand identity manual tailored to the specific needs of each client. The brand manual can be as simple as a CD ROM to easily distribute basic guidelines, or as comprehensive as a multi-volume manual codifying brand values, graphic codes, print and non-print specifications, photography and illustrative styles, and organizational brand responsibilities.

A practical alternative which is easily updated is a password protected website which contains all of the assets of the manual in digital formats. This provides a very cost effective and easy means of managing your identity around the globe.
